Kevin J. McLaughlin, LSW

Since 1989, Kevin J. McLaughlin has managed administrative and clinical affairs along with executive decision making based on consultation with the Board of Directors. Prior to serving as CEO-Executive Director, he worked as the Candidate Program Coordinator and started his career at the agency as a caseworker in the DATS Detox Unit. 

He is a founding member of the Behavioral Health Research Institute for which he currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors. He is also a founding member of the Lackawanna County Re-Entry Task Force. In addition to his duties at DATS, Kevin is an adjunct faculty member at Marywood University teaching in the Graduate Psychology and Counseling Department.

DATS Staff

DATS maintains a compliment of thirty (30) direct treatment staff. The clinical staff is a mix of Licensed, Certified and Degreed professionals. The staff collectively shares over 200 years of direct treatment experience which represents a very unique resource. Energy, compassion, and skill enable our agency to grow and succeed as a quality treatment provider. All treatment staff earn a minimum of 25 CEU’s annually which allows for continual growth of each clinician and adds to the professionalism that drives Drug and Alcohol Treatment Service. 


Meet our Supervisors

Kateri Harding, B.S., CADC - Quality Management Officer

Kateri received her B.S. from Penn State University in 2005. As part of her degree, she completed a six month internship at Drug and Alcohol Treatment Service. She was hired at DATS soon after graduation in August 2005 working with the Intake Department. She became a Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor in December 2008 and that same year was certified as a CRN Evaluator through the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation's Alcohol Highway Safety Program.

She has provided outreach to several of the Helping Courts on a County and State level along with facilitating several groups at different levels of care including Partial Hospitalization. She currently manages the daily clinical activities, serves on the Quality Assurance Committee, and is a part of the Management Team.

 

Carole Richards, LCSW, CADC, CCS

Carole graduated with her B.S. Summa Cum Laude from the University of Scranton in Psychology and received her Master's Degree in Social Work from Marywood University. She was hired to work at DATS in 1996 and became a Licensed Social Worker that same year. Along with becoming a Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor in 1999, she added to her credentials in 2002 when she became licensed as a Clinical Social Worker. Carole was certified as a Clinical Supervisor in 2005 and currently serves in a dual role of Clinical Supervisor and Clinician. 

 

Lori A. Villano, LCSW, CAADC

Lori works as a Clinical Supervisor and has been employed by DATS since 1988. She received an MSW Degree from Marywood University and has been a Licensed Social Worker since 1991 when she also obtained her CAC. Lori co-coordinates the Practicum/Intern Program at DATS.

 

Marion Wildermann, LSW, CAADC

Marion graduated from Juniata College with a B.S. in Business/Marketing and received a Master's in Social Work from Marywood University. She became licensed as a Social Worker in 1996 and was certified as a drug and alcohol counselor in 2005. She is currently a CAADC – Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor. In 1997, she was hired as an Intake Specialist by DATS and has been a Clinical Supervisor and Primary Counselor since 2007. Along with Lori, Marion co-coordinates the Practicum/Intern program at DATS.

 

Lou Guzzi, B.S., CADC

Lou graduated Cum Laude from the University of Scranton with a B.S. in Psychology in 2005. He has been employed at DATS since 2006 and received his CADC in 2009. 

He currently serves as a Clinical Supervisor, Federal Bureau of Prisons Program Coordinator, and Forensics Specialist. He is responsible for the coordination and operation of several therapy groups including the daytime Partial Hospitalization Program and the TDAT groups for the Department of Justice. Lou is also involved in community outreach and currently serves as the Vice President of Catholic Social Services Community Corrections Center's Community Relations Board.

 

Joseph J. Monczewski, M.S., L.P.C.

Joe received his M.S. in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Scranton. He has a long and distinguished career working in the Behavioral Health arena in our community for many years. Joe served as Clinical Supervisor for 10 years at DATS before working for CONCERN, Professional Services for Children, Youth and Families as the Regional Director for 16 years.

Joe has been a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC) since 1990, received his Certified Clinical Supervisor status in 1995 and became a Licensed Professional Counselor in 2002.

 

Kristin Boyarsky, M.S.

Kristin started her employment with DATS in February 2010 as a Primary Counselor. She received her M.S. in Counseling from the University of Scranton. She currently supervises the Multiple Offenders Program for DUI Cases and is the Court Liaison for numerous Helping Courts including Juvenile Treatment Court, Truancy, PFA Court, DUI Court, IP/RIP Court and Domestic Violence Court.

 

Kasie Ruddy, B.S. - Intake Coordinator

Kasie has worked in the Behavioral Health arena since June 2009. She started with the Agency in January 2014 as an Intake Specialist. She currently coordinates the Intake Department, the Certified Recovery Specialist Program and sits on the Quality Assurance Committee. Kasie's outreach duties include Adult Treatment Court, Mental Health Court, and she is the Agency liaison for the Clean Slate Suboxone Program.
