On June 11, 2014, we held our 1st Annual Tony Pero Memorial Golf Tournament. Tony was our Clinical Director and part of the DATS family for 30 years. Earlier this year, Tony lost his courageous battle with cancer. Rather than continuing our annual "DATS Golf Tournament," we decided to honor our dear friend with the 1st Annual Tony Pero Memorial Golf Tournament.
We had a great day at Elmhurst Country Club as golfers enjoyed pristine playing conditions, sunshine, and some good laughs. Former Yankees' great, Roy White, was the guest of honor and entertained throughout the day doling out laughs and posing for pictures with golfers and the staff. After the golfing commenced, guests were treated to dinner and door prizes in the ballroom at Elmhurst. The ceremony came to a close after prizes for the 50/50 raffle and golf winnings were handed out.
On behalf of DATS, we would like to thank everyone who made the 1st Annual Tony Pero Memorial Tournament a success. We would especially like to thank those who helped sponsor the tournament, those who made donations, and the Elmhurst Country Club staff for outstanding service throughout the day.
Overall, we couldn't have had a better day to honor our friend, Tony. Until next year, keep smiling down on us.
